Create a translation's pack for ASP-Nuke |
Why does ASP-Nuke use XML ?
Before this new translation's system, translations were stocked in an included file.
The main problem was the lack of flexibility, a multi-language website was hard to manage.
With this new system, translations are automatically updated when you put a new translation's file into the "lang" folder.
Moreover, a missing tag now doesn't hang the website, it just displays the name of the tag missing, instead of its translation.
And with XML, we can add attributes to give the countries set and specifications : LCID (determine monthnames, currency...), date format (DD/MM/YYYY or MM/DD/YYYY), charset (iso-8859-1, big5...).
In ASP-Nuke v1.2, I've added the charset attributes that was missing before, causing problems with some languages : arabic, chinese etc...
Important : ASP-Nuke uses the Microsoft XML DOM. Your computer may need to update its version. The Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 SP1 is available here.
